About the Festival of Art «Traditions and Contemporaneity» Idea of the Festival: Putting into closer contact the art of different countries and peoples, presenting the original works of art which reflects made of live and national traditions, showing all riches of the world art, collecting all tendencies and directions of modern culture in one exhibition hall. Aim of the Festival: Support of talented artists, not only famous but also beginning young painters, as well as revelation of the new names in modern art. Festival goals are to: 1. Support professional art; 2. Establish creative contacts between participants and increase their professional level while communicating and exchanging their experience; 3. Assist to the development of international artists’ cooperation, expand contacts with foreign colleagues, and strengthen international contacts and cooperation through art; 4. Assist to the professional consolidation of artists working in various areas of art, increase prestigiousness of creative professions; 5. Search and advance young talents; 6. Familiarize the wide audience with the best art works of some authors and with the art as a whole; 7. Professionally estimate works of art, graphics, sculpture, installation, architecture, photography, and applied art; 8. Carry out master classes, forums, conferences, round tables, charitable auctions within the frameworks of the Festival.
The initiation of the new award in the frames of the Festival is the uniqueness of the event. There are many awards in the art world, for example, in the fields of cinema and theatre. Now the artists of fine arts can receive their own award – the bronze figurine «Vera». According the results of the Festival the awards in 13 nominations are bestowed. The award figurine «Vera» (which in Russian means «Faith») was made by the honoured artist of Russia V. Mitroshin, the sculptor, the author of many Russian and foreign awards’ prizes. To embody his creative idea he used natural materials, such as: green Ural verd antique, rock crystal and bronze. According to his idea, the figurine was to symbolize faith in creativity, love and success – everything that makes our life possible as it is. The award became for the nominees the visual embodiment of belief in themself and incentive to continue and improve art work. The works in six directions of art are presented to the Festival award: painting, graphic arts, sculpture, installation, photography and applied arts.
